how this hand got butchered makes me feel smart, so at least your friend provided me that.
Edit: once you understand the ssh ideas it's pretty appropriate to play some hands more aggresively than they suggest, so long as you're aware of when you're beat post-flop. I doubt any of the authors would open limp after 3 folds in this situation.
