Default You caught teh genetic gay! The Science of Gaydar

On Stephen Colbert tonight, the discussion was with a guy who published an article in New York Magazine about the possible genetic components of teh gay, called The Science of Gaydar. There were a couple interesting physical signs:

1. Men tend to have index fingers shorter than ring fingers. Women tend to have index fingers longer than ring fingers.

Interestingly, lesbian couples -- and it wasn't in the discussion distinguished between butchy and less butchy lesbians -- tended to display the same genetic characteristic of the shorter index finger that males do.

A higher proportion of gay dudes tend to have the women finger thing going on.

2. If you look down on someone's head of hair from behind(I think you can imagine how this opportunity would arise), straight guys tend to have any whorl in their hair going clockwise, and also not know what whorl means in the first place. Gay guys have a greater tendency to have counter-clockwise whorls in their hair.

So, tough guy, have you been able to not look at your fingers for this long? What are the results?

Me? Left hand, straight as an arrow; right hand only moderately non-queer. Hair: dead butch.
