I don't think so. I guess it depends on what you mean by "dating." For completely non-serious [censored] around, I'm sure it could be fine. I doubt that's what the question is about. Otherwise, I'd be highly skeptical, mostly for the biological clock reasons mentioned elsewhere. It's not ridiculous at all for that to be a concern, nor do I think it's ridiculous to avoid dating women that you find it highly unlikely you'd want to settle down with, past a certain point in your life. I don't think this is the same thing as expecting every relationship to be about that, but I do think it would be strange to start one explicitly thinking that it would be impossible.
