I can't speak for how MonsterCable might have their setups, but the manual should state the kind of fuse and its variance and you would be able to find them cheap at Radio Shack or a place like Home Depot. I wouldn't expect you to spend more then $10 unless they are using some really super expensive fancy fuse/circuit breaker type of component.

However cracking open the strip to find and replace them might void the warranty, so I guess it would be up to you how comfortable you feel doing that.

I'd be surprised if the device actually 'broke'. It may have actually faulted and did its job, but since cable is a powered medium, it still is allowing some signal through because its "strong enough" but not strong enough for a full video signal.
