Alas, a lot of effort is likely being wasted pushing the 'poker=skill, ergo it's legal' view.
Pick-pocketing takes a LOT of skill.

Again, many states already allow games of skill (or, more specifically, have laws against games of chance). That's why it matters. It's not about public opinion. It's about existing law. There may not be any existing state laws permitting skillful pick pocketing, but there are plenty for games of skill.
Jon Kyl (I think he lost some of the letters in his name while gambling) even sent us a taunting letter, telling us we should get poker declared as skillful if we wish to play.
