Hand 1 - fold. With the other callers, their range of hands could easily consist of qjoff, kj, aj, etc...tough hand to play.
Hand 2 - I would call to flop a set or draw with big multiway pot developing. You should c/c flop. Your hand is now a drawing hand. Since button is passive, 90% he has over pair. You now have a back door str8 draw with 9 as an out. And since pot will be laying you 15/1, peeling 1 card makes the most sense. Nothing to protect by c/r.
