Default Re: What\'s a good $$ donation for a wedding gift?

[ QUOTE ]
My wife is an event manager at a large hotel in the Northeast and $150 a head covers the $105-$120 a head cost. Now normally how it works is the parents usually pay for the cost of the wedding, so it's gravy for the kids getting married anyway. I have heard horror stories from people that paid for most of their own wedding and get an aunt, uncle and three cousins attend and receive a $100 check from the 5.

This isn't serious right? I hope you're being sarcastic here.

This is not a horror story. A wedding is not intended to be a profit-making enterprise.

If you don't want someone at your wedding badly enough to justify the expense of hosting them, then that is an opportunity to trim the guest list, or reevaluate the party you are throwing.
