Default Re: common situation: midpair check/bet turn?

ok first you made a postion play with J8s and flopped mid pair on a T 8 3 flop.

situation A vs a loose / agressive opponent

I would bet the flop and if i get raised and i have seen the player check raising with air i would go for a 4 bet and if im called I would give up on the hand. If I bet out and he just calls I would check the turn and try to use pot control and call a river bet hoping he missed a draw.

situation B vs a passive player
I would bet the flop and the turn 1/2 to 2/3 of the pot. I see a lot of players try to make reads calling down small pairs. he could also have a hand like J9 or JQ 97 trying to complete a striaght. If you get raised on the turn give up obv. I think you get more value from the loose player calling down trying to make a read here and i would bet this turn about 75% of the time and just check the river.
