SS, I think Befolder's got it closer to right than you: "The only time these guys ever check or just call is when they hit the flop well. Most of the time."

"Call" doesn't really exist in his vocabulary; it's either bet/raise/checkraise or fold. I took my cue from the last time he was in SB, the hand that made up part of my read: he three-bet with A8s and bet it the whole way with just Ace-high.

I was a lot more comfortable raising his bet than betting his check.

Turn K, river was some other brick that wasn't a 5. Villain checked both times and I checked both times. I know the river wasn't a 5 because he showed 32o for the nut low. The only way I was getting any money out of him was if he tried check/raising me off my hand, and I decided to take a line that wouldn't let him. The downside, of course, is that I let him have two free cracks at the wheel. But if he didn't have that, I think he bets at me every street like he did with a naked Ace the orbit before.
