You are betting in front.
Something you hear a lot is "limpers in front of you", meaning limpers that have acted before you.
Also, there is the phrase "check behind", meaning you have checked after someone else has checked.
Just think of a normal line-up at a counter or something. People in front go first.
in front of you = before you
behind you = after you
