basically I am more careful when making continuation bets with A8 or A9 out of position when they miss as the equity value is not that great in those situations. Depending on the reaction to the continuation bet, if I do make it I will slow down on the turn instead of continually leading out if I am up against someone who is capable of check/raising.
Essentially I now am aware that my A may be out kicked so betting like it isn't is throwing money away. I am not sure of the value of bet/folding Ace with the nine kicker on the turn so I usually call it down. I prefer to go to showdown myself and not have to call the extra bet.
Playing the 8 or 9 hard is only good on the flop and its a call for me now if its donked in front of me unless its top pair.
