basic gist is eat same amount of food in a shorter period of time, people do the fasting several different ways, the most popular way is fast 19 hours a day, eat for 5. Termed "the fast five"... some of the claims, increased insulin sensitivity, better sleep, not as much muscle wasting as you think, increased fat burning, etc... I'm gonna try to do it this week starting out as fasting til noon and eating from 12 - 7, each week i'll try and cut it back an hour until i am down to 5 hours of feasting...
