People do some crazy things to get drugs, especially heroin. Also, if you're not an addict, you have no idea what's realistic and what isn't.

It was of little relevance because their actions as addicts was not what I found unrealistic. What happens to Marlon Wayans character would have never happened, he would have been treated immediately and would have never lost his arm. Also the whole storyline with the mom was pretty bad as well, in the same respect. The state doesn't just say, ok well your locked up in our mental institution for life, goodbye. I saw it a few years ago, so I can't remember the rest of the things I found unrealistic.

So, as I said, me never being a drug addict was of little relevance. Also, maybe these are nitty things and need to remember to suspend disbelief, but I feel they are things better movies do not have tripping them up.
