try a quick forehand slap to the cheek.
if instead of lowering her head in subjugation, she looks up in defiance/disgust, follow this with a firm, more deliberate backhander. even after you've completed the stroke follow through in order to accentuate your intent and seriousness.
this should solve most problems.
