Ok I have watched HSP, and seen all the straddles people do and stuff but I just don't understand it.

If I go to a casino, do most casinos allow straddles?

And lets say the blinds are 5/10 and somebody straddles, they stick in 20. So everyone has to pay 20, which means like the new BB is 20?

What is the point of the straddle?

Also, at casinos, if we want to run the cards twice will they let me and another player do so if we both want to?

The straddle is very dependent on where you play. Here in LA at most rooms they allow a live straddle only UTG at 2/3 NLHE and above games. Very high limit games have their own rules. So if you are playing 5/5 (300-500 buyin) at the bike you can straddle to $10 only when you are UTG and there are no double straddles allowed. No low limit NL games in LA allow running it twice, AFAIK.

The purpose of the live straddle is to generate action.
