Default Re: Improving running times?

Why do you care if you can run sub-6? -I have a reason, does it really matter?
How old are you?- 23

What's your BMI?- also 23

Your resting heart rate?- not sure, but normal range

Your blood pressure?- on the high end of normal, but I believe it to be that the last time it was taken I was fairly stressed.

If your heart rate is over 85 beats/min, trying to run sub-6 is insane. You would get a heart attack.

Running intervals both hurt and get you injured. If you're a natural you would be able to break 6 without ever running intervals. Just run greater distance. Run at different speeds. Don't run fast more than two days a week.

Run local 5K races. They're scheduled nearly everywhere in the USA. And try to run the entire distance at the same pace. Don't start too fast.

What does about 7 minutes mean? There is a big difference between 7:30 and 7:01. - I was timed at exactly 7:08 I think
