Default government interference diminishes The Price is Right

If you've watched The Price is Right recently, you'll know that the audience is dominated by two demographics: old retirees and college stoners. Commercials during the show, however, are targeted only at the old folks (scooters, osteoperosis medication, hearing aids, etc).

Now, this audience has one thing in common: both are big potential markets for weed. Since this happens to be illegal, none of the black market suppliers are willing to purchase advertising time. The demand for TPIR advertising time is artifically supressed, which also keeps the price suppressed. If the market were free, TPIR revenues would be higher, and prizes would be as well.

Government intervention makes The Price is Right less exciting.
