Let's see... Harrahs had every dealer "wsop dealer certified" then (after they realized this certification was worth less than zero) wound up firing the trainers. My guess is that all the dealers in LA had to go thru the same process. To this day harrahs hasn't stressed anything that is actually important, but which side of the table you put the muck on....

Harrahs also makes damn sure that their poker floors and supervisors are badly underpaid, thus assuring the very worst will be the only ones willing to take the jobs. A player said it to me, and it makes sense "harrahs has done nothing for poker except lead the way backwards."

This being said, there would be far more incentive for a "hometown decision" in a harrahs joint than elsewhere. This decision is so incredibly stupid and wrong it would have to be either "harrahs stupidity syndrome," a hometown decision, or both.
