Persistent shoulder injuries early this decade prevented Ryan Anderson from throwing 100-mph heat in the major leagues. Now out of baseball, Anderson is ready to turn up the heat in a new career.
Anderson, 26, a first-round draft pick by the Seattle Mariners in 1997, is a student at the Scottsdale (Ariz.) Culinary Institute. He wants to be an executive chef and start a restaurant specializing in steaks.
