Thanks for the replies Small Fry and MT2R, very informative...I guess 4k a month isnt peanuts after all.

Could you elaborate a bit more on this 401k (i'm a total newb to this)

I take it filing as a pro is the same as claiming to be self employed. Could you give me a few examples of the other things you can write off by filing this way?
