Default Re: Nolan Dalla Responds

[ QUOTE ]
The other thing is that I tend to think the Bellagio is a much better place than MGM to try and circulate chips-as-currency, and I imagine if someone tried to give me an 5K MGM chip for payment, I'd probably be like "dude, no."

I'd be careful relying on that assumption. Same corporate ownership can lead to one day things being cool at Bellagio, the next day, completely different. I know that the different casinos insist sometimes that they are managed separately and each play by their own rules, but when you're a subsidiary of GigantiCorp, sometimes corporate changes the rules and you don't have a choice anymore.

Last summer I sold a table at the WSOP to a guy (took his deposit, actually) and he paid me with a flag from TI. The cashier at the cage wouldn't cash it, but she called over a floor guy. I told him my story, he was very polite, didn't blink an eye (or even look at my ID), and turned to the cashier and instructed her to pay me and to do it all in hundreds. I don't think I'll take a deposit at the show this year in chips after Nolan's dilemma.
