Wetzel lays out the case for a playoff. And he's right on nearly every point except this one:

Boise State had no shot because they're not in the right club. And the club makes the rules, and makes it to protect the teams in their club. Florida State was no good in 1967, but they're in the right club.

Opponents of bowls often say that "every game matters" - but this isn't true. Nebraska, Boise State, Hawaii, Auburn all will tell you why.
