"Small Stakes Hold Em" is exclusively a fixed limit book.
fox/harker didn't get particularly great reviews on this forum. I would look into these for NL starters:
"Getting Started In Hold Em" - Ed Miller
"Little Green Book" - Phil Gordon
"Harrington On Hold Em" vol. 1-3 - Harrington/Robertie
"Pot Limit And No Limit Poker" - Ciaffone/Reuben
"No Limit Hold Em Theory And Practice" - Miller/Sklansky
some people will mention the Angel Largay book as well, though I personally didn't like it.
