We've played this in our game for years, except we call it "Holdema" (it rolls of the tongue more easily than "Holdmaha" imo).

There are probably quite a few other home games throughout the world that have invented this exact game!

The best part is having no pair/draw on the turn, and making the nuts on the river anyway.
