Basically I tip $1 for a pot of any size: a couple of limpers or a raise then I take it down on the flop. That's a bit more than some but then I generally never tip more than a dollar even if the pot is huge. For an average dealer dealing Hold'em this should be $25-$30/hour. This seems fair for small stakes.

My thing is I never tip chip runners or the cage. Is this bad? Partially I never think about it at the time and I really don't like giving away a bunch of money.
