Question on renting apartments.. when I finish University in about a year, I should be able to afford to rent some place.. do you think it's worth it to move out of parent's house and pay rent or should I live with parents for a little bit and save up money? On one hand, I'd really like to live independently, I think it opens up a lot of social opportunities and it's just pretty cool/liberating to have a place of your own..

on the other hand, If I were to rent something out, I wouldn't be able to save much money.. If (big if), I make like 4K/month, 1500 or so would go to rent, which is a pretty big chunk. People also always say renting is a waste of money, but I won't be able to get approved for a mortgage any time soon.
