Default Re: 77 on a 754,8,x board, when do you stop raising and start calling?

"Turn is 8 for a 8754 board, and it gets checked then bet to me. I hate raising here as it seems a 6 is such a big part of their range and I'm liable to get re-raised."

NOT raising this turn is pretty bad. You've got tons of equity here and have to charge the flush draws. Getting re-raised is OK 'cause you've still got your boat outs.

I am curious: why would you not raise the turn, then consider raising the river if you're worried about the made straight?
