If Ohio State and Kansas win out, they play for the national title. I guarantee it. If Ohio State loses, as in the OP's scenario, but all the other current contenders win out, LSU is very likely to be Kansas' opponent, although there's a *small* chance that Oregon could sneak in if LSU is unconvincing enough for the pollsters to move Oregon up to the level of consensus #2. This is highly unlikely though, LSU definitely has the strong inside track, with Arkansas and the SEC Championship still on their schedule.
