The reporters job is to get athletes to say garbage like this. It's the athlete's job to avoid doing so.

It's the reporter's job to be there if/when athletes say stuff like this. Solo doesn't work for the reporter. She could've easily said, "Obviously I'm disappointed in not playing, but it's the coach's decision." Everyone who isn't an idiot will know what she means without totally ranting.
