You put your bag in the room, so that pretty much shows that you intended to stay there. Just because you ended up crashing somewhere else doesn't matter, I don't think.
The restaurant bill thing is a different story though. You should have been able to pay for only your portion of the bill -- plus a contribution towards the bachelor's bill, if that is what everyone else was doing as well.
