Speaking from experience here in regards to paper/pad training. My girlfriend talked me into letting her get a similarly stubborn breed to house train (miniature dachshund)

Yea hounds are stuborn for sure , I've tried to explain this to the GF too we shall see what happens when the walking starts, Shes only had the first round of shots we were going to wait for the rabies shot to start walking her
