Go to the homepokertourney site. They have a few tools there that can figure schip ditribution and they have examples of blind schedules.

I go with a T500. Chip distribution would be:
10x$5
6x25
3x$100

Blind Structure:
5/10
10/20
20/40
30/60
40/80
50/100
75/150
100/200
150/300
200/400
300/600
400/800

I believe there is a rule of thumb that the tourney ends about when the blinds are 10% of the total in chips, so if there are 12 players, when the blinds get to 600. I could be wrong, but Homepoker will tell you. You can kind of time when it will end by adjusting the time on your blinds.
