how about this:

wolves get to kill one player straight up, no protection.

that player, during n1, gets to send a pm to one player of his choice (any player, that player could be a wolf).

that player gets to send one pm in response. no other communication would be allowed.

after those two pms are exchanged, the killed player gets to make one vigilante kill on any player of his/her choice that night.
