op's original question is interesting... had somewhat passively wondered the same thing... hayley and phil have recovered nicely from their bottom 3 results, others it has been the kiss of death.... i do think betting markets have put too much emphasis on it. i think the voting is pretty close in the lower middle and then the judges i think throw out some votes.
