yes, IU did get Eric Gordon to decommit from Illinois (well..he forgot that part) and commit to Indiana in a very malicious manner by hiring close family friends to numerous positions within the program...congrats!
It appears the main reason Sampson was hired, despite his previous ethical shortcomings, was his potential to get Gordon.
Whether that was a good choice for IU is something that remains to be determined. It's looking bad right now.
