Default Re: Playing At Caesars Indiana

Long time lurker, but I felt like I needed to join to reply to this thread.

I played in the ladies tournament at Ceasers back in the spring, and was very disappointed. The structure was changed from what had been advertised and even from what was on the printed sheet. Probably due to a larger than expected field and so that the tournament would end faster. But it seemed excessive to reduce levels from an already short 40 minutes to 30 minutes and to remove two of the first 8 levels. It really seemed to make it into a turbo online type tourney instead of one you paid $300+40 to enter.

The players were for the most part very nice, and there were quite a few who seemed to know what they were doing. But this doesn't outweigh the bad structure.

Additionally, most of the tables were out in the casino area. They were roped off across from the poker room, and although the smoke didn't bother me, a couple of the players at my table were having problems with people at the slots smoking right behind them.

This experience, along with a similar one at the Goldstrike in Tunica (ladies tourney, shortened levels, bad structure) has pretty much made me decide not to play ladies tourneys anymore. One of the reasons I choose them was for the lower buy-in and for the experience of playing live, but like most people I don't like to throw my money away on a bad bet, and it seems like these are.

If you do choose to play, there will be many calling stations, bet and raise sizes will seem to have no relation to the size of the pot or stack sizes. (min bets may make everybody fold, huge bets may get 3 or more callers, and somebody won't know that they have to post blinds.

All that said, I did have a good time and met some really nice people. And I have a lot more confidence playing live now.
