Does anyone else have a friend who's struggling pretty bad, and needs your support and advice, but doesn't ever seem to do anything to help themselves out? Or if they do it's painfully slow and incremental. I feel like I can either give support and be invested, or just try to stay detached. I can't seem to do anything in-between. Does that make me a bad friend? It's very hard to be invested in someone who doesn't seem to want to help themselves.

This is like exactly what I've almost written about you like 23423523235 times. Is your friend you?

Yes. If struggling were defined as getting up at 5:30 am every morning to work your ass off try to get in shape, even though your friend Yugo constantly assures you you could be a 300lb fat slob with yellow pit stains and still get laid by supermodels every night.
