I would also raise, but I don't think calling is ridiculous. The main question is how best do we get it all in. Some villains are more likely to bluff or semi-bluff than call a big bet with a strong draw or TPTK -- so, it's often very read-based whether to 3-bet or call when you have position with a big hand and are c/r on the flop. Here, I raise b/c I think there are enough draws that I want to charge, and also b/c I think there are enough big hands this particular guy might have that will give me action with a 3-bet. But, if the board were dryer, and/or if I had a different read on the Villain, then a call might be best.
