I cringe when I hear Bill O’Reilly talk about (well anything, but that is beside my point) the “philosophy of Jesus.” Religion is not philosophy.

That being said, from a skepical and philosophical point of view, I think the fact that people believe in this nonsense is very important to philosophy, and that to an extent it's also of some importance to science, as it slows down or even prevents it's progress
