Depending on his tendencies I think checking has some merit.

If he peels his entire range on that flop - and I think that is likely - then he is going to fold a lot when you bet. Checking to induce a bluff from those hands can win you some value that betting wont.

If he does check behind with air, it really isnt bad if he would have folded to a bet. He might catch something on the river and put money in then.

If he has 6x or 2x it is likley that he will bet if checked to. Check/raising against these hands can possibly win you some extra value. But only if he bets them!


Overall I like checking against a bad LAG. Against a loose passive fish it depends. I need to be sure that he will bet 6x, 2x, pps and possibly Ax for me. But if he will do that then I am confident that c/r > bet.
