Default Re: Mathematically, are the 4 Player match -EV to a HU SNG?

I used to think I was a genius playing these 4 player shootouts on Pokerstars for $10. Then I figured that I was placing 2nd way too much, and playing both games would be more time consuming.

These are great if you are the occasional player who just wants to play a few games per night, they are also great for BR boosts. But I think in the long run, a 1-on-1 HU sng match is more profitable.

I have also experienced these things to be more tilt proning, when you own your 1st opponent, own your 2nd opponent, and blinds hit 100-200 and you it becomes a donk-fest shove-fest, and you end up losing the coinflip, you tend to get annoyed for the fact that you spent 1 hour for a $0 profit when you actually beat an opponent.

These are FUN, and are good for BR boosts, and good for the OCCASIONAL player who has limited playing time per night.
