Default Advantages of a Seeing Person Knowing Braille?

I was thinking about this yesterday. It seems like learning Braille would require a minimal commitment.

There could be some possibly +EV possibilities that are created by the ability to read without seeing the book or whatever.

These are a few I've come up with:

1. Being able to read without light for whatever reason (power out etc).
2. Having notes during an exam without being in plain sight.

The upsides are probably not very practical or worth the effort, but it are there any possibilities that are being overlooked?
