If there were someone to sign, it could, but to get a 1b, you'll have to give up prospects too. FWIW, I don't think the Yankees get in on Jones unless they trade Melky.

I'm gonna throw it out there. Melky might be better than Jones over the next 5 years. Not from a contractual point, but a "I am better at baseball" point of view.
