well melky's deal is really bad... and if andrew was willing to sign a one year deal, that would mean he'd be willing to get in shape for the season, and be really good at defense

why does melky's D get a pass.. because he's young and on the yankees?

Is Jones that much of a defensive upgrade? His bat wasn't better last year? If you even assume Plus/Minus is the average for both of these guys (LOL) then you're only paying what 4 mil per win in improvement, maybe more in a one year deal?

I wonder if that black hole at 1B could use that money.
