This, especially when we have a read on the opponent, is not a reason for betting. What you suggest makes the hand easier to play, but is loses Value. This flop is a +EV Spot for sure, but often it is more profitable to make a worse hand bet.
I will tend to play like you suggest to avoid tough spots against unknowns that may be strong.
