Different rules for different houses. The house rule at the room I play in allows you to expose your cards HU in a tourney as well as a cash game. But, of course, the more popular ruling in most rooms would be as stated; ok in cash game, not in tourney.

There probably should be a more universal rule on this, especially clarifying on the forward tossing of the cards when flipping them face up...That makes it a little iffy, almost like a muck.
