Default Re: November Low-Content Thread

So I show up to play 15-30 lastnight, not because I want to or feel like it, but because I want to get hours in and I was supposed to run into Brick there.

Instead, I have the good fortune of running into PJ, whose bigger game broke, and he was humble enough to sit in my lowly 15-30 game. I proceeded to play bad, fail to read hands well, select lines that sucked, lose focus on the action, and torch 50bbs.

Wowowowow. That was embarassing. I felt like Paul Newman after getting hustled by forrest wittiker in the color of money. "I showed my ass in there. I got nothing left to show you kid!"

Somehow, I either managed to bring my D game to the casino that night, or I was just confronted with a ton of situations that I habitually play bad. It was probably both really.

Which makes me wonder: Sometimes, when we play really well in a session, how much is due to being dealt familiar situations, and how much is it due to actually playing well?

Remind me to: not play on an empty stomache. Not drink beer while I play. Exercise more than 2x/month. I am turning into a sloppy bastard here.
