I guess I'm not sure where the quote was, but she is misinformed (she's not the only one). In America, Internet poker is not covered by the Wire Act, nor is it prohibited by any other federal legislation. UIGEA only affects Internet gaming that's already illegal under other federal or state laws, and Internet poker is illegal only in a few states (most notably Washington state and Louisiana).
