Default Re: What do you want/where do you want to live when you are retired?

I'd want season tickets to the Golden State Warriors, anywhere in the lower bowl would be nice. I'd be that old guy there at every game, one the players know by face, the guy riding and schooling the rooks on their mistakes throughout the game but in a grandfatherly sort of way. I wouldn't be too concerned with dress, I wouldn't splurge on clothes but the ones I have will be good quality. I wouldn't eat expensive but not in an unhealthy way either. But I would have a nice luxury car, a Mercedes, probably, assuming my tastes won't change over the years. That's a pretty large assumption to make, but how can you go wrong with a Mercedes?

San Francisco is too cold. I love hot weather, and I'd probably be perfectly at home in Mexico. But I love the Bay Area too much, I love my teams, my family, my home. So I'd live in the hottest part of the bay. I don't want a big home, not a mansion, that just isn't me. Give me a few bedrooms, a fireplace, a basement with a poker table and walls covered with memoribilia. A one story house would be ideal. A porch to sit on. A dog to keep me company. I love to read and write, but that would be an extension of what I've always done.

I would coach someone's basketball team, be it my grandson's or my nephew's or whoever's. I'd stay in as good a shape as I can physically. And of course I'd play poker, although I imagine that my days of playing online will be done the day I turn 21. So I'd have to live close to casino, and I'd be the host of a homegame, probably on monday nights so we could watch football while we play, me and friends. I'd have family over for dinner as much as I can.

All I ask is that I be debt free and surrounded by good people. It ain't much, but I know it'd make me happy.
