Ok, in attempt to make this thread not so vague and generic, I will tell you that I held 9s9h. His line just smelled so GD fishy to me that I though I could push it for value(?). I didn't mention this (though i think its somewhat to be expected) - but i would expect this player to bet out his big pairs on the flop.
Do you think 99 can be pushed profitably in this spot?

You should check behind this flop w/ 99.
I guess if I bet it and he check/raised after 3-betting me preflop I might feel compelled to get it in, it might be terrible though.
